Hi, I'm Apolla. I am currently undiagnosed, but a retired doctor, a counsellor, and my family are all pretty sure I have it (as am I, I've done a lot of research on it before I even allowed myself to consider the possibility).

I'm currently in college and I've gotten some helpful advice from just reading some of the threads, so I figured I might as well join so I can get more and hopefully return the favor!

Um, I'm a Russian Studies major (which is one of my special interests, along with Star Wars, Supernatural, and Rome). And I love to write!

Hope to see you all around the boards!

Hi--Welcome to the WrongPlanet Apolla!

With your Russian Studies Major, do you like much Russian Literature? I'm a fan of it.

Yes, I love Russian Lit. My favorite is The First Circle by Solzhenitsyn, although The Master and Margarita runs a close second! What are your favorites?

Hey Apolla!

My favorite Russian Literature: I have to agree with you on "The Master and Margarita"--one of my favorite books.

Next would be Moscow-Petushki by Venedikt Erofeev. Kind of an obscure book, but I love it.

Broadly: Nikolai Gogol.

And an Honorable mention to "The Life and Extraordinary Adventures of Private Ivan Chonkin" by Vladimir Voinovich.

I actually have a copy of "The First Circle" sitting on my bookshelf, but it intimidates me--looks so long.

What are your other Russian Studies interests? Any interest in Russian Cinema?

Oh, I meant Rome, like Ancient Rome, silly me, I should have specified. I haven't seen the show yet (80 dollars is too expensive for me and I don't know where I could watch it online or if they have reruns.)

David, I generally like anything to do with Russia. I've only seen a few Russian movies: Night Watch, Day Watch, Admiral, Brat (Brother), and Prisoners of the Mountain. Are you interested in Russian cinema? Any suggestions?

And even with all of its pages, The First Circle is well worth the read! (At least, I think so.)
