new in Australia

Hi everyone,

Im a french male 28 yo visiting Australia on a WHV, currently in Melbourne. I should stay in the land down under as long as my visa is running, which means until 31 october 2011.

Im having a hard time making pals and really connecting to people, my only friend could not follow me as he still have to finish his studies.

So far, im enjoying the country very very much, it is as great as i imagined... though i feel alone and begin to be bored, because of my poor social skills.

Im 28yo from the suburbs of Paris, France. Currently in Australia for year i hope.

My center of interests are world politics, world economics, comic books, movies, roleplaying game...

Im an IT technician, good with computers, though no degrees. I impress average people with my knowledge and understanding in this area, though i dont know very much compared to the average in the area.

I live in Sydney and work in the IT industry.

I don't know if you are interested in Linux, but there is a good Linux user group in Melbourne. Quite a few people in the Linux community have Asperger's syndrome, or are at least Aspie-like, but not diagnosed.
