Hello. My name is Will and I'm new here. I’m a 21 year old aspie (diagnosed in 2008). I'm really big into music and cooking. I work as a courier and am finishing up my last semester of college. Lately i've been pretty depressed because I've stepped back and discovered that I find it extremely difficult to make and maintain connections with other people. While I have plenty of acquaintances and "friends" (at this point, glorified aquaintances), I find it very hard to feel like I have a meaningful connection with people over the years. I sense other people becoming slowly frustrated while spending extended periods of time with me. I find it hard to relate to anyone on a romantic level, as much as I try. Constant failures always bring me down. I definitely cannot pick up on any nonverbal queues, letalone most forms of sarcasm. I cannot small talk with anyone for the life of me, and I feel like if I don’t take the initiative to contact anybody than I wouldn’t get invited anywhere. It seems next to impossible to maintain conversation when hanging out with friends, and I feel like ive said everything there was to say within the first five minutes of conversation. Lately i've found myself either working constantly, and if im not working im glued to the computer more and more. I'm sure i'm not the only one around here who is feeling like this and i'm hoping to find out ways to cope with these things, because I really feel like I need to. Nice meeting all of you!
Will
