I couldn't think of a very good nick name. That was the best I could do. I am new to this. I am not officially diagnosed but did testing with the colleges therapy they offered. They said they did not want to diagnose me as it would cause more problems than then help. I learned of this disorder in a class called the exceptional child. When an expert on autism went to discuss the symptoms I felt like he was reading off my life. It all felt similar. I read somewhere that people want to self diagnose because its popular and cool but frankly I find that derogatory as their are many who really have the condition and it is difficult to cope with. I always knew I was socially ret*d to a degree and "different" but never knew why. I just wish I had a means to cope with my situation rather then be tossed about by the political turmoil. Ironically I just saw the south park that addressed the condition and found it to be lacking. I have heard of people who do not believe it exists and people I know would always say "You don't have Aspergers" and not even know what it is. They think its just something to make up to make people feel sorry for you. I don't know. I was diagnosed with severe ADHD and being Disturbed but I figure what's one more label. I am hoping to find some kind of solace in communicating my thoughts without angering someone because they completely misunderstand what I am trying to communicate.

Could you elaborate on the reasons they didn't want to diagnose you? When my mother discussed about education with my doctor, he said that in the case of my brother and I, our situation was such that we had a good chance of integrating into mainstream society if we went to mainstream schools. In a special school, he said, our behaviour might be influenced by the more severely autistic kids there. This was also the situation described in the book A Friend Like Henry by Nuala Gardner.

Not sure if this is your situation but this is what I want to share.

I was in college when I tested for it and they were reluctant. I get the feeling they thought I just wanted to self diagnose or something. Said it might hurt me career wise if they diagnosed me and I can't help but think they are skeptical. I just wanted to know why I was so different and strange. I mean, I read this post about a strange land with all this oddities and peculiarities and filming it or something like that on the blog post and I think to myself: Most people would find that to be an eccentricity while I find it awesome. That sounds like something I would do. I like weird stuff because it makes you think.

As for the name, I used it as I think of the blade. The purpose being the harvest being a double symbol of life and death. It is often said to be carried by the Grim reaper and yet it brings life through the power to harvest food. It is often revealed as a very powerful symbol and used in reference to the reaping of souls in the end days which I found cool. I don't know why I chose it other than that.
