Hello guys!

I recently discovered that I have AS. It's something I've suspected for a long time, but it wasn't until my psychologist gave me the partial diagnosis, that I was prepared to accept it. I still have my doubts about the extent of the diagnosis, because I'm actually pretty neurotypical in a lot of respects. Only, I think the term "Wrong planet" has always applied rather well to me. From childhood, I was always completely puzzled by my surroundings. Why did people insist on playing these superficial games? It felt like I could see connections that they could not.

It's only in recent years (I'm 26), that I've learned what it means to sustain friendships. I've never been good at small-talk, but in these past years I've been able to learn enough about it, to get around fairly well. I'm capable of making friends, and finding good company. But I still feel unable to connect with the vast majority of people. Their interests don't interest me at all. And it doesn't matter what kind of people I'm around, I always feel alone which is a saddening thought. I'm highly cerebral, and I'm always intellectualizing and analyzing. I refer to my interest as "obsessions"; tongue-in-cheek of course! :P

Well, I'm here to explore what this partial diagnosis of mine actually means. I hope I'll be able to bounce off you guys!

See ya.
