Okay, forget it. I'm never going to be satisfied with what I type, so I may as well merely mow through this and post whatever comes out. I have never been diagnosed with Asperger's. For that matter, I was diagnosed at the age of 10 with Tourettes, though my mother reports that earlier psychologists had suggested autism. I eventually came to the realization, however, that, no matter how hard I looked for the symptoms of these disorders, they would never materialize. I don't have Tourettes, and I never did. Frankly, I don't know how the doctor came to the conclusion that I did. I have always unmistakably exhibited every possible symptom of Asperger's, from the expansive vocabulary to the intense emotional attachment I had as a child to whatever book I happened to be reading at the time. During my teens, the meltdowns were quite a regular thing, and my pedantic mode of speech persists to this day and is difficult to reign in. For some reason, listening to emotionally charged music seems to have a calming effect on me in the long term, and it seems to give me a certain sense of stability. I would love to exchange musical tastes and artist names with the forum elsewhere. Anyway, perhaps it'll be nice to fall in with a like-glitched group of people. Pleasure to meet you all.
