I'm new here but I've noticed several topics and polls based on fanfiction discusion.
I was just curious on how many here are into fanfiction, or how common it is among members.

I personally read alot, but never really got into writing the stuff.

Anyway I just wanted to know if I'm amongst freinds

I writer some fan fiction, but nothing that actually been published anywhere, mainly because of missing deadlines or just never finishing any of it. I read some too, but not from here.

Fan fiction is writing based on books, games, movies or just about anything else, written by fans of... whatever it is.

I should have been more specific. I have written Star Trek: Next Generation and Deep Space 9 fiction, and a couple Doctor Who stories, including a crossover with Red Dwarf. I have also written a couple Buffy the Vampire Slayer stories. I also wrote one Highlander/Forever Knight crossover story, but they changed Highlander while I was writing it so my story no longer fit.
I like fan fiction because we can focus on aspects of the shows that the producers can't or won't, plus we can do crossover stories without the limitations of network licenses.
