Newbie from Virginia

Hi All,

I joined this site because I suspect I am an Aspie. I also have a son with autism. He's 3 1/2. Delightful little guy. I guess in a nutshell, I'm looking for a place where it's ok for me to be me. To say the least, my mind does not work on the same level as most people. There's often a backlash, and as a result I isolate. But I still get lonely. It would just be nice to be around folks who made an effort to understand those who are different. Hopefully I can find that here.

I am in Virginia too (Blacksburg). I am not an Aspie, but I'm married to one and I have an 8 year old with Aspergers. I hope you find this a soft place to fall. :

Thanks. I'm feeling a little down today. Multiple reasons, but not having a connection with people I can talk to face to face is hard.
