Hi all,
I'm new here and I suspect I might have symptoms of AS.
I'm now at age 43 and recently took a Asperger's "quiz" and my score was pretty high.
Now I've starting reading all the information I can about Asperger's and strangely it all seems to fit in my puzzle.
Since I was a kid at agent 9 I've always built my own electrical devices fixed tv's radios and much more without really having learned how.
I've went to a piano school about age 11 but got tired of it because I did not want to wait for the other attendants to finish. I learned my parts too quick according to my teacher.
Age 15 i assembled all the parts in a motorcycle gearbox without any drawing on instruction manual.
I still don't know today how I was able too that but somehow the pieces turns into a system in my head.
I'm good with computers (it-consultant now) and have a thing for numbers...prime numbers especially. let alone palindrome-prime numbers (which are the best)
Somehow I can "sense" which number is a prime number and which that is not.
My brain has a lack of a pause button and always assembles information, details around me that other people seems to ignore. (numbers, patterns and so on)
If there is a car in front of me I analyse the numbers on it's license plate.
Since as far back I can remember I've been extremely good with puns and world play and I read this was "typical" Asperger's "humor".
When reading or hearing something my mind automatically rearrange letters and words to play with. I can't stop it.
I always need a lot of sleep or I get exhausted.
And the last part is that I find most people very non logic. Logic I can relate to but social code is not my strongest side.
In social events my brain goes into buffer overload because of all the information it gathers and analyzes.
So i'm puzzeled because I just don't know if I'm a regular geek or I might have AS.
Anyone diagnosed with AS who can help me figure this out?
