Hello everyone,
i have been different all my life. felt like i have been on the ''wrong planet'' for all my life too. I am self diagnosed (considering to get a diagnosis because i want to go back to school and they give more help to people who have been diagnosed, although its expensive and its not really a priority for now. I will go with the flow.)
i did an aspie-test on that website: (google aspie-quiz)
Aspie score: 135\200
NT score: 98\200
This score have to be seen as me who have been working on being like everybody else all my life.. pretty sure i would have scored higher for aspie if i had do this younger. Anyway...
those are the traits that correspond to me:
*superior intelligence than the average (IQ 130)
*Social interaction and communication problems caused by the inability to read non-verbal language (body language, facial expressions, voice tone)
*Apparently rich language, a lot of vocabulary
*Difficulty to express myself properly. (As in expressing my emotions but mostly the way i see things, life, etc. I am better at writing it.)
*A literal understanding of language and expressions (inability to understand puns or irony). (yeah... big time.. i had such a hard time with that... and still have)
*A peculiar tone of voice, a sometimes snobbish type of speech (sometimes with a foreign accent), (i have been told often: are you from France? I am from quebec city, canada and both french accents are really different from one another. And when i do speak english, i dont sound like a quebecer neither but like a east european/russian)
*disproportionate use of body language and facial expressions (especially with strong emotions such as fear or anger).
*Excessive attachment for certain objects, fixation on a specific subject (special interests such as dinosaurs, road maps, trains, weather, computers), obsessions and repetition, rituals.
*Senses that are either hypersensitive (loud noises, bright light), hypo-sensitive (no reaction to pain (i can endure pain a lot and like it even. though i dont inflict pain to myself.. except if you think that working out and being sore is inflicting oneself pain
)
*Naive socially. always honest and cannot feel their peers’ intentions. (how i can relate to that when i think about my childhood...even today, i still dont understand how people can be dishonest)
*Lack of coordination (im very clumsy..)
*Exceptional memory, especially for facts and details. (i have a memory for face of people incredible. i see them once and i will recognize them forever. and i have a memory out of the norm for dates of event that happened)
*Inclination for isolation and solitary activities (i love just hanging out alone most of the time)
*Self-stimulation behaviour (rocking, playing with my hands), often in times of stress.
Looking forward to exchange with you guys.
Love
Maryse
