I prefer for now to remain anonymous but at an early age I was diagnosed as having a form of aspergers syndrome. It really never bothered me much until my close friends moved away and I started going back to school. Ever since I started going back to school for degree my condition is both a gift and a curse. On one side I have no social life so I can study constantly and do very well. So much so that I occasionally get accused of cheating. I have a knack for acing tests. On the flip side I'm not learning to be social. I am not learning skills that will be extremely helpful when I graduate with a degree.
I was told that my diagnosis is different. I am lucky. I have very mild form of aspergers. I just suck at reading people. What is obvious I am oblivious to.

With that said I believe can get better. I believe that with practice I can overcome this. So with that in mind I decided it best to join a Professional Fraternity at my local university. However I have to wonder if I should tell them about my condition. Pledging is an "interview". I came here hoping for insight. Should I tell them or should I just let it play out? This is not a social fraternity(party social kinda thing) it is a professional Fraternity that I believe can help me evolve into a better person. So what do I do? Say it or keep quiet?

First of all, welcome to Wrong Planet!

Second, if you feel the need to share your diagnosis, I say go for it! It would certainly make it a lot easier for the people doing the "Interview" you mentioned. You could also keep it to yourself if you feel apprehensive about it, but either way it's completely up to you. You have control over who knows your diagnosis.

I also have a generally mild case, but I'm probably more severe... :P

i think it is funny that your subject indicated that you are not sure what to say besides hello and then your post didnt say hello, but talked about something besides.

perhaps you are ready to share and not just say hello? when you say thinks like 'very mild' and that you can 'get better,' maybe you could leave the diagnosis out of your discussion with them and simply indicate the social areas in which you would like to grow?

Welcome to WP<
My initial reaction is don't bring it up. It's not really pertinant and just gives you a label for people to catagorize.
