Completely unrelated I know but I suppose now you know my secret identity. Wooooooooh spooky! 
Anyway, I don't know the series that well (even though it's on constantly round your house) but I'd say the earlier ones were better as I get nostalgic watching them. I wouldn't bother with any of that modern CGI rubbish. It has to be those slightly creepy models for me.

Totally agree with rabbitears the earlier ones were cool I remember watching them loads as a kid, but i guess kids today watch all the cgi ones and prefer them.

Cool glad to see ppl still watch and i presume enjoy them
cgi is good an everything but its not the same when they do it to old stuff that we know and love without cgi

Agreed. All the shows that have been remade in CGI instead of their original animation lose all their character.

Hi Brad! Welcome to Wrong Planet! Thomas the Tank is way after my time, and even my younger brother's time, but there are a lot of young people here at WP who will remember it. I think you will like it here. There are a lot of different forums. Besides Autism/Asperger's issues, some of the forums are for computers and electronics, and there are some for games, too.
I am an older adult, but I like visiting WP. I always find interesting posts, and articles here, and sometimes get help here, too. I have asked computer questions a couple of times, and got some help.
One thing you can always count on is that you are among friends here at WP.
