I think I may be autistic. I am 29 years old and after reading about it completely on accident one day I feel like I show signs of Adult Autism an aspie I think. I have felt a bit ... I do not know whatto put here so that people will not get offended. I mean no offense. I shy away from social situations, I retreat to my computer when things get crazy, I have absolutely no friends my age and only have 4 in total, including my wife and son. I do not react to anything really i.e. I am never suprised and dont really laugh, etc.

I am actually shy to be posting this here. I have been a member for a few weeks but have not posted due to lack of wanting to be in a social setting, even if it is online.

Sometimes I also do math in my head whilst walking or sitting and staring or just standing and gazing. Not that this has anything to do with having autism, except I read it might.

My grandmother also told me she always thought I was a touch autistic. So there is also that.

I really don't know and I am growing more self conscious by the keystroke. So I am just going to post this now and not risk deletion.

No need to be shy about it, there's plenty of people that have been at or is at the same point your at right now.
Hopefully you'll come to see it as a positive thing that you discovered a reasoning behind your behavior etc.
In a way i think it is better to know there is something that is causing you to act in certain ways, than there not having been so.
I would find it a lot more frustrating if there weren't a explanation behind my somewhat different behavior, and in fact just were a strange Neuro-Typical. Wouldn't you?

Anyway's, You'r welcome here :)

:D Welcome! No need to feel self-conscious - your experience is a familiar one here.

When you've lived with the condition for years, it's almost impossible to read the diagnostic criteria and not think "Holy crap, that's ME." 8O

The first time somebody sent me an article outlining in detail the symptoms of AS, it gave me chills, because I felt like someone had been following me around and secretly videotaping my life for years to compile a personal profile.
