Hi - I am new here

Hi Everyone. I am a 35 yr. old female that lives in the Southern part of the USA. I must confess that I have been lurking here for over a week or so...trying to understand more. The main reason I came here was b/c I am infatuated with a male friend of mine...and want to understand him more. Then I got a surprise...it is a strong likelihood that I am on the Autism Spectrum, too. Perhaps that is yet another reason for becoming attracted to this man. I just sort of "got" him.

Anyhow...I am here to learn more about my friend and possibly myself.
Basically...here are some of my former and current "symptoms" which may or may not be related to AS:

-In my baby book my mom said I walked on my "tip toes" everywhere for a long time
-I could not tie my shoes until I was about 8-9 years old....and that was only after ALOT of pressure and practice from family.
-People made fun of me for being obsessed with certain topics and changing the subject often during conversations.
-I dressed "odd" according to most people, especially all during elementary and grade school.
- I interrupted people often during conversations.
- Parents complained that I did not like to be touched as a baby or child, did not like hugging. (have outgrown this one).
- Played Atari, Nintendo, and then Super Nintendo (mainly PacMan and Super Mario Brothers 3) almost non-stop. Did not wish to socialize much outside of video-game playing.
-Many people still joke with me and ask me if I am an "alien" (lol...at times I do feel like one)
- Loved painting and doing various creative projects.

Thank you for creating this site and for all the people who are honest and post and/or reply on here. I really appreciate that there is a haven for AS, I hope to stick around and read more....

I never would have guessed you where 35 , I shouldn't be so surprised appearing and sounding younger* is part and parcel of being autistic right ?

I'm no doctor, but it certainly sounds like you have some of the classic symptoms of Aspeger's. And how awesome would it be if you and that guy wound up seeing one another! I imagine you'd have a lot to talk about.
