The title says it all 
An Aspie from Australia, I was diagnosed only a year ago. My father exhibits Aspie traits as well, which I think made him blind to mine. I've had his NT friends tell me they are pretty sure he's Aspie, but he doesn't want to know.
I've found life a lot easier since becoming aware what it is that is different about me, and it explains why people often get angry at me for reasons I just cannot figure out. Although that has not happened much since I started studying Maths, and Physics, and my social life now revolves around groups of people who have a high incidence of Aspies. This has made my life a lot more fun, interesting, and a lot easier too.
