Hello everyone :)

I recently discovered that I have Aspergers after watching a TV documentary and realising that I have the traits of Aspergers that were described in the programme. I didn?t know about Aspergers before that so afterwards I did more research and discovered that I have pretty much all the traits (some to a great extent and others to a lesser extent).

I?ve read a few of the posts on here and it?s such a relief to read people posting things that I thought no one else felt except me. I?ve always tried to fit in with others and I thought if I keep trying to socialise with people eventually I?ll start liking it, but it never happened unfortunately :(

I?ve finally decided to accept who I am now that I understand why I?m like this. I?m not going to try to be someone else all the time anymore, although maybe some of the time I?ll do this if it?s necessary to impress people for whatever reason. I can do a reasonable impression of a neuro typical person for a short time :)

I love castles and love to learn about what life was like in a medieval castle. I love history from medieval upto world war 2. I have 2 dolls houses based on my favourite eras - a medieval castle and a Georgian mansion. I also have an obsession for creating spreadsheets

I enjoy history as well.

Have you studied the Peasants' Rebellion of 1381?

Welcome! You will discover there are some really cool things about being autistic. Eventually, you will see that many neurotypical people lead very dull lives. Their lives are generally easier than ours, but they have a bleak existance. Behind every quirk lurks a talent.

I'm not familiar with this no. I went through a phase of reading a lot but haven't read anything for ages. I prefer to learn from TV documentaries and haven't yet seen one about that.

Books have much more varied content than TV documentaries--though I love TV documentaries.

The Peasants' Rebellion, I believe, ushered in the Early Modern Period in English history. The peasants were tired of being mired in the Medieval social order.

I've now googled it and found this site http://www.historylearningsite.co.uk/pe ... revolt.htm

Hmm. Medieval sub-culturist here too.

Another larger Peasants Revolt took place in Germany & Switzerland in 1524-25. Interesting story but grim as many peasants revolts are. Their short lived establishment of 10 basic rights of all people was quite ahead of its time. I happened to live in one of the main areas of the revolt for some years and visited some of the castles and sites.

These Peasant Revolts were the start of the Modern World.

Alas, people had to be martyred in order for us to enjoy our relative freedom.

They just got tired of the bullcrap they were enduring. They knew there must be something better over the horizon.
