Hi all,

I'm new here so hello.

I'm a dad of two kids. One fifteen yr old boy with Aspergers and a daughter who is 12 and has a diagnosis in the pipeline (been waiting for weeks). I also have a wonderful wife who looks after us all (I'm retired due to poor health).

We've managed pretty well so far although we've certainly made our mistakes. We have learned so much over the yrs and expect to learn about ASD every day for the rest of our lives. However we are very quickly discovering how different ASD is for girls, almost as quickly as the 'experts' are.

I initially came on here looking for support for my daughter as a good forum would help her. However since the real experts are on here I thought I would also join up so please expect lots of dumb questions!!

I look forward to getting to know you all. :D

Welcome from across the pond! I joined here to learn more about AS since I'm the one in my household with it, and I'll say it has been comforting to know there are others like me. I know that AS is most likely to be found in boys, but it is not impossible for girls to have it. The only two people I've met face to face with AS were female.

There really are no stupid questions for this so ask away!
