I would like some close friends who are college age.

Greetings. I have just realized, once more, that I have no close friends who are college age. Honestly, I am beginning to worry about what will happen to my mental state unless I find some close friends. I am a male, 20 years old, and a sophomore in college who is majoring in computer science. My interests include computers, classical music, mathematics, biographical films, and science fiction (cyberpunk, in particular). I am not an outdoorsy type person, but I do enjoy walks in parks and swimming. For exercise, I like to run. I would prefer that a close friend share my interests; however, if to them they are merely tolerable interests, that is okay. I would also prefer that a close friend meet me, at some point, in real life, maybe at a convention, lecture or some other event that pertains to one of my interests. I am looking for both male and female friends.

I know what you mean by needing close friends. I have this issue myself. I have only one close friend at college, and I know that it is hard for him to be my only friend. I need to spread out and meet other people too. My roomate did invite me to go to dinner with her tonight, so that was pretty cool, and maybe we are on track to being good friends. I usually just feel lost when it comes to friendship bc i do not know what i am supposed to do, nor do i know when i am actually "friends" with the person or if i am just a good aquaintance, but my college buddy i mentioned earlier has advised me not to get hung up on the terminology.
