this is a bit overwhelming, i'm super new and I don't know where to start ~!



are there any vets out there that can maybe help me get started?


I would like to meet people and find ways to share creative expression and have the opportunity to experience and enjoy the creative expression of others.

Well there is an art, music, writting section.

It does help to tell a bit about yourself. Your age, it does have a lot to do with figuring you out.

Your main interests, just a place to start.

Post I am a 17 year old guy, and a half dozen girls will come check you out. If you are fifty we have another deal, and a place for the under twelve.

It is hard to tell much just from writing, there are some 14 here who could teach at a University.

Open questions are always fun. Aspies are a shy but curious breed.

Pose a question that catches their interest and the replies can run for pages.

so.... should i continue with this thread or seek out one whats more appropriate for introductions? i noticed that there were 20 new introduction threads created just today.. how do i know which one to choose? should i base it on number of current replies? as far as the titles go none of them seem to have any more significance than the next

I'm a bit worried that this may be a difficult process and i don't want it to be. I don't want to make it more complicated than it has to be but i seem to have that habit. I am very excited about this website and it seems that i can get a lot accomplished here but for the moment i feel a bit like an outsider still.

These threads get checked by a few meet and greet types, me for one. They stay on the first page for about a week. More will check in.

This shows what other forums they post in, and what they said, click on the links and go to the thread. Asking for information in a thread, a subject thread, where regular posters post will bring replys.

Aspies are known for being know it alls. So if you go to a painting thread, say anyone into acrilics? You will get answers.

People have lives, England is 3 am now, Austrailia early morning. Workers post before and after work, the pace picks up on weekends, aspies never have friends, dates, or leave the house. Just a joke. I went out for groceries just last month.

If people like your posts and subject matter, they will look for your name. After showing up on the same thread several times you might send a Private Message, some questions, complaints, do not belong on public threads, we do have kids, personal attacks are not allowed, that is for when people know you.

Due to the roundness of the planet there are lags, give it a week to get through a cycle. It will take a month just to see who shows up on what thread.

I've noticed your from Florida, USA. I belive one of our Australian native trees has become quite an environmental weed. Can't think of the name of the tree. Do you know anything about this?

I don't know much about Florida - is that where lots of people go to retire?

I am 22 years old. I live in Hollywood, Florida, to be specific. It's between Miami and Fort Lauderdale.

I think i am having trouble identifying my interests. I like comedy... i play video games for a lot of the time that im not working. i guess that is an interest, but it functions as a coping mechanism so when it comes to things that i want to want to be doing it doesn't make the list. i think girls are very interesting. I'm fascinated by most things creative, but i don't have the patience enough to pursue these things as interests. I would like to be able to expand more though. I don't have many outlets.

I believe the tree that you are talking about is the Austrailian Pine. Though it's actually an angiosperm and not a pine at all, we call it that because of it's appearance. I checked the internet to see if i could find another name for it. Maybe you know it as the Ironwood? I don't know if you guys have another name for it.. It's invasive in nature and multiplies so rapidly that when it invades an area it becomes unmanageable. It affects many aspects of the ecosystem including lighting, temperature and soil content. Often, cutting them down isn't an option. In order to clear them from an area for good, each individual tree has to be treated with an herbicide and then removed. It is possible to remove them manually, but it is very labor intensive due to their high resprout rate when any trace of roots remain.

There are a lot of old people that come to South Florida for the warm weather. We also have a high hispanic and "Islander" population. There is a lot of diversity in the culture. It isn't really a good place to live for some people though. Most people that i know, whether they were born here or not, dream of getting out of Florida. I should be moving somewhat soon. It looks like Ohio is the most favored idea.

Hi Shayne! I live in Florida too (northern Florida though). I didn't know all that stuff about trees before though, that's interesting. And most of my friends seem to want to get out of Florida too, although I have one who is very keen on getting here (she lives in New Jersey now).

Welcome fellow Floridian! Like, chairbreak, I'm also in Northern Florida.

The best place to start would be your own interests...there are many forums in WP that accomodate various interests...
Also, if you like to play games, you can try the Roleplaying, Games, Randoms etc forum....there are quite a few interesting threads like three word stories, make a caption for the above member's avatar, word association games...etc...
