Hello, my name is Vid and i was once reccomended too come here too meet with other people with Aspergers syndrome... after reading some of these posts i just can't help but feel a bit.. offended..... first of all the whole "aspie" thing seems like a trend as i look at it... i never was one for any kind of support groups but then again i am not very social which i was told was a symptom of Aspergers syndrome but most of you seem very social too me please, don't take this post as offense as i would like too meet others with Aspergers syndrome and though i may not fit in but i would still like too be all of your friends ... I find this a varied site, I use it mainly as a place to play but it is also a great community to turn to for help and advice or to just let off steam in a rant when the world gets a bit frustrating.
I hope that you can find somethings here for you.

Some irony in stating that we seem more social but you want to be all our friends.People with AS are not necessarily "anti-social"(maybe compared to NT's but they cant seem to function a few minutes without human contact,ie,cell phones glued to their heads),but more of us have problems getting and maintaining friendships.(schizotypal is more likely to avoid people because they get nothing from them,AS more likely to avoid them because it is such hard work to not piss people off and know all the social rules).

So welcome to WP.Some are more social then others.I like to be "social" when I can learn something and relate to people,this is the only "socializing" I do.Even here,I tend to piss people off but they dont beat me up for it(Only because they cant reach me,ha)Thats how I like it.

We are anti-social, uncaring, all that other stuff, but only in person. People annoy me, but not computers.

We do have a human inside, and here it comes out.

We are not the same, there are aspies, and a lot of other stuff here.

There are areas that are pure social chit chat that can drive me nuts through a computer, and some very deep insights to who I am from others.

As usual, you have to sort through a lot to find good stuff, but this place is rich in aspie lore.

By your age, interests, what small fraction of the whole spectrum you have to play with, you will find stuff that fits.

Welcome to WP! I think I wish to socialize but lack the skills and means which leads to frustrating experiences, which results in withdrawal and anti-social behaviors...Also I agree that interacting through the net is much better than interacting in real life...I don't consider it to be less of an interaction than real life in any way...but it takes out the difficult part such as non verbal cues...etc...I hope you enjoy posting in WP...
