I would like to introduce myself by saying that I am Daniel, and I have to tell you some things about myself. I was born on September 3rd, 1993 in Hong Kong when it was under British control. After Britain relinquished control of Hong Kong to China (I was 3 at the time), my father and our family moved back to the United Kingdom, where I stayed for roughly seven years. Once the taxes became too high for my dad to afford a private school to help me with my autism (help at a state school was poor), my family travelled to the Philippines, where we have lived ever since (I am 22 to be honest). Lastly I went to B.C, Canada to major in European History for 2 – 3 years, but I became too lonely because of the usual difficulties with communication and returned to the Philippines. But I did enjoy Canada and would like to return sometime.
Now my interests include reading, especially classic Russian literature, writing (occasionally), playing videogames, primarily Role-playing games, and sleeping. For your information my favorite book is Master and Margerita, for reasons that I don’t actually remember. But it is still my personal favorite though. My favorite sport is swimming, and of all the swimming techniques I strongly prefer the breast stroke. In fact I even participated in a couple of tournaments a number of years ago, only to come in 5th or 6th place. Oh well it’s the thought that counts, and to be fair I was a part of my swimming team, which gave me a sense of responsibility and teamwork. Finally my past hobby includes building and painting pla-models, but I gave on that a few years ago on account of being too time-consuming. Oh and lastly I really enjoy travelling, and I have been lucky so far.
I would also like to say that I have come to you all today to say that I have autism, but only mildly but that is enough to give me difficulties with communicating and socializing. Going back to why I failed university, the reason for that was because I was getting exceedingly lonely and “isolated”, to the point where I shut myself off from the rest of the world. To make matters worse, I suffered a stroke mid-December 2015 here in the Philippines just after I had started a chef’s course and I am still on the long road to recovery. However, I am receiving speech therapy from a couple of good speech therapists, and that is why I have come to you. My main speech therapist has requested that I create my own account, and formally introduce myself and maybe I should have done this when I was in Canada. I am pleased to have any replies from you, and that is all.
