25 year old female, diagnosed last week with autism spectrum disorder type 1, possibly looking for friends or answers or just more information in general. Feeling a bit overwhelmed and looking for a community of former child fairies who closed their eyes and hoped they'd ascend to some completely different universe. (Okay, maybe still a little hopeful about that one as an adult.)

I think it's been a really helpful discovery so far... but I'm still feeling a bit depressed for some reason that is hard to put into words. Looking forward to moving further into the realm of self-understanding and meeting people who've faced similar roadblocks. Nice to meet you all!

Welcome! I think adjusting to the shock and whirlwind of emotions brought about by the diagnosis and seeing the crater within the frame of your life is a common experience, I hope over the next few months you feel the depression lift and that you find value and meaning around the diagnosis and can move onwards.

Hi there, welcome. When I first started posting in the forum, I had suspected I had some form of autism, but wasn't officially diagnosed. I am now 32 years old and have officially been diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome, so we're in a similar boat. This boat is overwhelming, but you're not alone. The people here were quite helpful to me, and hopefully I can be of help to you in the same way.

Welcome.

It's interesting to hear from people who were diagnosed so late in life. I was diagnosed with Aspergers when I was in Kindergarten, and I've known about my condition for almost my whole life, so it was never really a change or a shock to me.

I founs your pin on the map page. I live in Chiba if you need someone who understands to chat with. Last year I lived just north of you in Gifu, actually. :)
