Hello everyone, I was just made aware of this site the other day, and think it's great from what I've seen! This is a good place for people with AS to get together and talk about, well, just about anything.

Anyhow, my name's James Fabiano, I am 28 and from Edison, NJ. I am currently a librarian at the Rahway Public Library. I got my Masters in Library and Info. Sciences from Rutgers College in 2003. I live at home with my mom, dad, siblings, and I would be remiss if I didn't mention my tabby cat Brutus :-)

I have a VERY eclectic list of interests (which sometimes does make me feel misunderstood or incapable of being understood, as I worry not everyone will "get" everything about me). I enjoy reading, writing sometimes, bike riding or anything that lets me appreciate a nice day outside, and travelling...especially when I can come back with a load of pictures! I am also a Catholic and do get concerned how strong with my faith I am.

I love music, especially a lot of stuff from the 1950s-80s and many female singers of those decades. In particular, I love the "Britgirl" singers of the 1960s...as you can tell from my avatar, this refers to the likes of Dusty Springfield (a MAGACIAN with music if there ever was one!), as well as Petula Clark, Lulu, Marianne Faithfull, and Barb Jungr (who I don't think started in the '60s, but she's another great person!) That's not to say I don't have many North American-based favorites too...like Anne Murray, Crystal Gayle, Peggy Lee, and Nancy Sinatra.

I prefer the music of past decades A LOT to most of the current stuff. Sadly, it seems that for the most part, music has since lost its heart and soul. Actually, I feel like that about much of today's entertainment. I am also very choosy about TV programs I like, and usually settle again for older stuff. I don't even go near the networks for the most part (except maybe for Fox's Animation Domination on Sundays). It gets frustrating cause it seems that the good stuff is what ends up not lasting. Anyhow, other than that, I LOVE Britcoms, and I also watch real-life medical shows (like on TLC), some of the Travel Channel and Food Network, and Adult Swim and Toonami (mostly Justice League Unlimited) on Cartoon Network. I am not a big moviegoer, as I tend to only like things that interest me or that feature someone I'm a fan of. I've gotten into the more classic movies as of late, particularly Jean Harlow films.

My other interests include Transformers, Masters of the Universe, classic video games, pro wrestling (mostly the '80s stuff now, or the independent promotions...I have little use for WWE now), and comics and super heroes. As you can gather, the pleasant memories of my past inspire me a great deal and make me feel good. It can be a blessing and a curse though, as that also reminds me how things have changed, but not necessarily for the better.

Well nice to be here, I hope I'll get to talk to a lot of you. If you've got any more questions about myself, just let me know!

J.

Hiya. I'm new here as well. Welcome!

Nice to see I'm not the only one who likes medical shows on TLC. I like "Forensic Files" and CourtTV, too.

Hi, James. Welcome!

I work at my local library as well. I like all kinds of music also. We will make you feel right at home.

Dude! You're gonna love it here. Check in with me - I know you from another forum (or two) and it's good to see you popping up here. Love the Dusty icon!

Thank you all for the nice greetings!

Clever Cait...I've watched Court TV usually to have background noise, haven't gotten as much into it as the TLC stuff. Like I said, Travel's pretty good too...during Halloween they had a lot of "haunted house" specials, I enjoy those! And WPT of course! (BTW, for you poker fans, do you know of Phil Ivey? He went to my high school!)

Larsen...where ya from? Are you in reference too, or another position?

Hi Widow and LowFreq...you're right about us Aspies! :-)

Ooooh, Zed, are you a fan too?

BlackLiger (no relation to Jyushin, I bet you might not even know what I'm blabbing about there ;-))...yep, a comic fan. If this makes sense, though, I like the characters more than the books. And in case you wondered, I am on DC's side :-)

Hi, James

I am from Seattle, Washington, but I am living in Johnstown, New York, right now.

At my local library, I do data entry for historical documents in my current residence for people who have since passed away. It is a very fun job. I like it a lot.

James, your name sounds familiar. Do you like gameshows as much as I do. Have you played "'Net Price is Right," with Jay Lewis? That's why I think your name sounds familiar.

You must type a lot about gameshows in your blog. You must have been a big fan of gameshows for all your life. I have, too. I am so happy that gameshows exist.

If you have any questions about me, you can reply to this thread, or e-mail me. My e-mail address is at the bottom of all my posts, and I'm sure you will be tickled by it.

If you would like to talk to me, feel free. I am very busy, but just remember, if you send me a message and I am not around, I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Ah, so now you're right next door to us? Do you have easy access to Manhattan, as I am usually there when I go to NY (will be there Saturday, weather permitting, to see Broadway Barks...I will finally get to see Bernadette Peters in person!! ! Mary Tyler Moore too! I wonder if I can ask about the MTM cat logo, it would be appropriate there, given the setting ;-))

Data entry...is your job cataloguing, then?

I never played NPIR, but I am a big game show fan. I just posted a BIG post on the topic in the entertainment folder. You might have seen me on ATGS (before it became Troll Central) and the Game Show Forum (before some of the posters there became total jerks)

Is "Larsen" part of your name, or is it a tribute to the Press Your Luck code-cracker? ;-) ;-)

Yep. I'm a fan...of Dusty and of game shows. Don't hold it against me, but I know you from Invision - I'm mystery7 there and hopefully not one of the "some" you mentioned! Looking forward to seeing more of you here!

Ah yes I know you well, we've emailed in the past. Believe me, you are most certainly NOT amongst that "some"!

EDIT: Just got a pretty sizeable GS post on the entertainment folder, as I stated earlier. :-)

Oh, James

I already replied to your post on game shows, but I have to say, my real name is Jason William Larsen, as you will see when I post a reply to one of my messages next time.
