Just joined I'm an Australian Army veteran with complex PTSD and Major Depressive Disorder and 58 years of age. Diagnosed as very high functioning ASD in March 2025 and borderline OCPD and it's likely I have ADHD. I joined because I thought this might be a good way to connect with the neurodiverse community. I feel exceptionally lonely outside the veteran community and need to be able to rip my mask off sometimes.

Howdy Howdy Howdy

Welcome to the Wrong Planet

Australia, huh? That's a place that I find fascinated to read about but since I hate to travel (haven't been more than 200 miles from home in nearly 25 years), I'll never make it there to actually see the place.

I used to work with a couple of Australians. They were both pretty interesting people. One of them lived in a sailboat in Australia when he wasn't working in the US.

Welcome to the planet. I'm new as well. Just happened across this post while searching for military/army related posts. Have been curious how many fellow veterans there are with ASD. Ex-US Army myself. Living in asia now.

 Go Air Force!

My bride and I are both USAF veterans.

She is technically a Viet Nam era vet (but stateside), I was too late for that.

My time in the Air Force has greatly benefited me. Plus, it was something I had in common with a gal I met at a Mensa party and ended up marrying so I am very, very, very glad I did time in the service and would recommend it to anyone who is eligible...though it might be tougher for a neurodivergent person to get in these days, sadly.

And I am a clear INTJ Very clear I and T! so my bride has been a valuable addition to my life, I often rely on her as my interface with other people.

And, speaking of your part of the world, we've been in Amish country.
