Hello all.
I don't really know what to write but I'll try anyhow. I'm new to this forum after browsing around on the Articles-sections for a while. Am currently under investigation for AS/ADD and have found alot of useful tips about stuff like eye contact and small talk here. Don't really know wether I'm aspie or not, but, I've thought alot about it in three years time. I have written about sixteen pages about my life (A4, Western 10) and it all ended up with a suspicion of AS. Some friends to me also suspected it. My psychiatrist and psychologist also suspect it. But me, myself, is as undecisive as a frog. I have tons of evidence pointing at it, and tons of evidence pointing against it.
But the more I think about it, the more I get this feeling that I'm fighting against the illusions that I've put on myself. Like pretending to be someone that I'm not (that's what got me into psychriatic care some years ago). It's like I am pretending to be normal, but I can't really get the notion and feeling how it is. I have this memory when I got better from my depression and anxiety, I felt great, and then I began university, to develop my social skills. And it didn't work out that great. I started (or always had) to over-analyze everything in social contexts. I was the one that sat silent at parties just trying to interpret what other people did to each other without getting any idea what they did; ended up with.. anxiety.
Oh well, here I am, on this forum, and I enjoy it alot
Nice to see I'm not alone.
