Another newbie.

Hello. I have been wondering what the hell was "wrong" with me for almost 30 years. I recently began researching ASD because of my daughter (18 mos), who is PDD. I now realize that I'm an aspie. I'm also dx'd as bi-polar.

It's a giant weight that is at the same time lifted and crushing me as I go through the laundry list of things in my past that were a result of the "aspiness". I've been going through some serious emotional issues over the past 6 months, alot of it due to the denial and lack of understanding of family members.

So there's that...

I went through much the same thing after 30 years of thinking I was alone in the way I felt. Huge relief to find out I wasnt, but a struggle to find out where I fit into the spectrum and which of my strange habits are because of the AS. It took some time but I eventually came to the conclusion that I am exactly the same person I was before I learned I have AS, and that this is really nothing more than a new world to describe some of the way I feel.
