Well, been here about 3 weeks. I keep getting into the forums from the home page....didn't see I was supposed to touch base here first...

Pakleds are from Star Trek; not too bright, need things to make us go...

After a few weeks around here, I realize I'm in familiar territory, probably for the first time...I talk a good game online, but IRL a bit more unsure of social situations...a bit older than most here, but then they didn't diagnose Asperger's until I was in my 40s...

The avatar is a Pakled (and everyone else, the most over-used ship on TNG history.. ship I modeled in Wings 3d, textured and rendered in Bryce, 2 of the 3d art programs I use. I hang out at Renderosity.com (same handle, if you're stopping by)

I tend to post a lot (have about 16,000 posts at 'rosity, in 6 years... not always helpful, but I'm mostly harmless...

BTW - what's with the descriptions under our names? Snowy Owl?

The different names under the user names are rank designations based on how many posts you have made.
The more posts the more legendary the bird or dinosaur, at 500 posts you become a phoenix and remain so until your 1000th
post, that's when you can change your description and write in what you want to be when you grow up....

Many things you wrote could have been said by me too. I wondered why ppl had, like three or four names (if you included the avater), and a 'signature' too, and when I found that some ppl were all veterans, or snowy owls, I nearly thought I wasn't to be here.
Also, I like harmless people. So, hello.

Not to worry, pakled, many of us (me included) only started introductory threads after shooting off our mouths in several other threads first. Others of us never bothered with an intro thread at all. There's no rule about it.
