Hi, I'm a first-time user. My name is Jason and I discovered Aspergers Syndrome about 7 months ago. I am now age 33. I have never really had a relationship and, until 7 months ago,I couldn't explain why. This was very frustrating. I have severe anxiety and panic attacks when I'm around others, especially good-looking women, authority figures,etc... I have the desire to communicate and relate but, don't have the ablity to do so. Its funny, all my life I've had these feelings but, until I read them myself (Aspergers symptoms), I could never put my thoughts into words for other to understand. I guess that comes with Aspergers. Now, heavily medicated,I'm able function socially, to some extent. Before, I had to be drunk or drugged, in order to enter a store, restaurant, work, or some other social gathering. My main problem is the panic attacks and the severe anxiety, when around others. Meds help but, it is still a struggle. Anyone have any tips or suggestions? I really have the desire to have a relationship, and be able to go places, and do things I want to do. Just finding out that I have Aspergers, was the best thing that ever happened to me. I can now attempt to explain my actions, but I still have a long way to go. Also, I've had problems with drugs and jail in the past, but that is another story, for another time.
