Well hello to all in these forums, in true aspie style I have already jumped in and replied in two threads before actually introducing myself.
I'm 46, female and just recently realised that I have AS which is something of a great relief. Yay I'm not a weirdo...I'm not antisocial...I merely think differently 
My depression, anxieties and feelings of isolation...(well those lessened with age, I really don't give a crap if ppl like me or not now), were not unfounded but caused.
My likes: My beautiful seashells, and crystals. amongst many other things. (Ive collected seashells from the age of 6).
My dislikes: irritating ppl who insist on chatting when I'm busy, too much noise.
I want a sign made that lights up saying..."I have AS go away now please" haha. I do have humour, I'm also English so yes my spellings may look weird if your American.

You sound a lot like me, I was diagnosed last year at the age of 48 quite a shock at first, but a revelation at the same time.
