I just realised I havent officially introduced myself here yet.
I am a 31 year old female who lives in the UK and was diagnosed with Aspergers when I was 26.
However I am only just starting to deal with it properly after being in denial for a long time.
I have already found this site useful and hope you will be gentle with me :D :D

Hi SMARTIE and welcome to the wrongplanet. Since you have been a member for awhile I hope you have found the site useful so far. You mentioned being in denial when you learned of your diagnosis. I was actually relieved when I got my diagnosis. For me, I finally realized I wasn't alone in the world and that there were others like me---(social problems, obsessive interests, etc.) Even though Asperger's has some qualities that are less than desirable, I view the condition as a gift. I love my interests and my obsessions for them. Hope you have been enjoying the site.

Hi, I'm new too. Welcome from someone who has also lived in the state of denial.
