chat K-LINED

OH RATS they K-LINED me from the chat server today it says (u have violated freenodes term of service) so i was wonedering dose anyone know how long they keep that kline on u ?????I HOPE NOT TO LONG another qustion dose anyone know how u can bypass it they set the k-line using my ip addy i got a feeling that k-line is gonna be on a long long time if it wAS just TEMP ONE it say temp k-line foo so many days but it just says K-LINE i already tryed to reset the router and motem it didnt work

I think it's a few days, but it could easily be made permanent.
Apparently you can email kline@freenode.net and politely ask for details. Probably a good idea to quote your IP and any other relevant details too.

a) If you got k-lined for some technical/automated reasoning (re-connecting to the server too fast, etc), those usually don't last very long. If you did something to get a server operator to k-line you, it's probably going to be for a week or longer. Since you didn't wonder *why* you were k-lined, I'm guessing you did something stupid and pissed off an oper.

b) bypassing a k-line is a really good way to get yourself banned indefinitely. If they don't want you on their server, respect that and move on.
