Ah right, gotcha.

The timeout and reason for it are bogus and unfortunately, sitting it out is the only way past it.
It shouldn't be necessary to create a new account (which wouldn't resolve difficulties with your existing account anyway) and the reason why that wasn't possible just now has been resolved.

I was able to log on today. I just can't upload a custom avatar because that button is missing. I'm being everybody's little Sweet Pea for now.

Yes - the ability to upload an avatar has vanished for some reason. The only option now is to link to an offsite image or use one of the WP-provided ones.

I'll look into it.

(On another subject, glad you finally managed to resolve the "SQL error" problem.)
