Welcome back, Cornflake! Your presence instills some confidence in the "new" site working for me.

Well thank you...

There were a few hiccups along the way, and there may yet be a few more - but once again WP rises from the ashes! :sunny:

I'm glad that you're still here, Cornflake! It's generous of you to spend so much time supporting WP members.

Since the site relaunched, when I try to click on members' posts in most WP forums, I get this message: "502 Bad Gateway openresty". I can read some posts in some forums and have been able to upload a few posts myself, but my access is very limited.

Jenny

^ Thanks! :thumright:

Interesting - I had (and still have, with my usual Vivaldi browser) the same issues but on using Chrome instead, everything is fine.
Using the same version of Vivaldi on Linux is also fine.

This clearly needs further digging...

Is it possible you could try using Chrome, at least as a test?
Please don't tell me you're already using it! 8O

I had the symptom using Chrome but seemed OK using Edge.

One of those hiccups you mentioned earlier.

^ Yes, I hope that's all it is...
It's a bit worrying that you get the error with Chrome, but my switching to it resulted in no error.

Hi again, Cornflake! Thanks for the suggestion, but yes, I'm already using Chrome (on my phone).

Seems weird to me that a browser would affect this at all, in the first place. HTTP status code 502, like other 500-level status codes, is supposed to be strictly a server-side error. Shouldn't be affected by anything on the viewer's machine. Client-side errors are supposed to be 400-level status codes.

My guess is that this is an intermittent server-side error, and that you switching browsers didn't really affect it at all, but the apparent fix was just a lucky coincidence.

It hasn't appeared to be intermittent for me. I've been checking in regularly and have consistently had the same access issue during every visit since July 1. I assumed at first that the site was experiencing problems but then started wondering whether I was the only person affected.

Jenny, I'm sorry there's no fix yet and while I don't like suggesting different browsers (so losing familiarity and access to bookmarks), at the moment that's all I have.
As MaxE said, he also had the same error on Chrome but using Edge fixed it. I know that's likely not available on a phone but Firefox is, probably along with Brave and others.

As Jenny noted, it's not at all intermittent - and it's extremely irritating, preventing me from using Vivaldi on WP: I also re-check often.
Other issues are currently preventing me from using my Linux system - where the same version of Vivaldi works fine with WP.

I take your point about the error code though - it's all being investigated by those involved with the site transfer.

I've occasionally seen 502 errors too, and for me they have been intermittent. When I've seen them I just tried again a few hours later and usually got through. I always just assumed it was strictly a server issue and that nothing I could do, other than just go away and come back later, would affect it.

Hi again Cornflake, I just tried something random that seems to have solved my problem, at least for now. I logged into Wrong Planet from an incognito tab on my phone and can now access all posts. I rechecked and still have access issues if I use a regular tab, even after logging out and back in again. Weird!
