More moderators?

We need more mods alright. Most forums have around five or more mods these days.

I've been saying this since I got here.
We need more mods and we need to know who they are so people know where to go for help.
We also need some sticky topics with rules and guidelines created by the community.

I've moderated for official charity forums before and I'm sorry to say that the moderating here is more than terrible!

I know. Right now, we have a spamming flamer troll, but there are NO mods around to do anything about it!! !

I was mod on an Advance Wars fansite for a while and let me tell you, being a mod is a horrible curse. Your email quickly fills with complaints and "KAN I BEZ A MUD 2?!!111!!111"

It's a dirty job but I also knew I was keeping a small piece of internet safe from Goatse and Racism. It's well worth the curse.

And this...is exactly why more moderators are needed...who is here to delete all the spam threads, I ask? Or to explain to less knowledgable members what is causing the issues.

I'd apply to be a mod if WP was asking for more. Definitely needs more after Atomika's return today.

I can provide references from modding highly sucsessful charity forums in the UK.

I agree with Apatura and Starr.

We don't need any more Mods!

Especially not "cloaked'' ones.

Yes we do,

we got hit by two trolls last night and no one could deal with them.

We need more mods so there's always at least a good chance one is on.

At least two more but three would be better.

I'd suggest the users Quatermass, Awesomelyglorious and Starbuline. Each is on a good bit of the day and is a well-known and liked member.

I don't see the point of hidden mods. Any member is able to bring a dodgy post to the attention of Alex or the Mods, what benefit comes from secrecy?

They function like undercover police, your not supposed to know they have mod powers. We would need at least one or two visible mods though.
