It's just how I've been made to feel. At the moment I'm under a lot of pressure and suffering with some mental health issues and other personal issues, so I come here to vent and then get some people putting words into my mouth just because I didn't like their advice. I appreciate all replies, and if this site had a ''like'' feature like Facebook, I would use it whenever I read a post, rather than having to post a short reply to every comment. I'm not this self-obsessed on Facebook or in real life, but I do use WP as a discussion forum to discuss or vent about things anonymously. But apparently that is not how WP should be used.

I'm under the impression this website is precisely for this reason.
That's the reason I stayed here. Venting helps me analyze & sort things out. On other forums I've had problems with members taking my posts the wrong way & accusing me of being a self deprecating narcissist & a misogynist. I grew & matured a lot since I joined this forum.
Maybe it would help if you took a break from this site for a bit Joe & focused on other things like hobbies, projects around the house, & staying in touch with family & good friends(whatever format works for you guys). You'd be welcomed back here whenever you decide your ready to come back.

I don’t feel Joe should take a vacation from us.

Indeed yes. It helps at this time to stay in touch online. And this is still the best forum for that!

I agree but I think it's better to take a vacation for abit than to decide to leave here permanently thou many members have changed their minds & came back after attempts at permanent leave. There is a fair bit of posts on this forum that are mentioning things related to COVID-19 stuff & I can see how some people who are majorly struggling can be triggered by them.

Joe it's perfectly legitimate to say how you feel at all times. I don't know about everyone else but I am also more edgy and bad tempered than my usual self. We will all get through this together.

I like your posts, Joe90, but I wish you felt better; if it is what you need, take a break. If it is what you can do, stick around. This is a support forum and discussion board...Not the Oracle Stone.

Can only speak for myself, but I certainly would not be offended by so brief a response.

:D

I find the green smile has more "personality".

I am not the sort to give short replies with just a face. I do that on Facebook, but here if I did that I'll have almost a whole page of short posts like that in my ''see all posts by Joe90'' page. I am here more for reading and writing discussion posts. Facebook was invented more for all the ''big hugs'' and ''there there'' stuff. I don't do that so much here.

Well, I only feel fully comfortable with short posts if I’m attempting to achieve humour.

I know exactly which thread you mean: I’ve seen it.
I think the particular suggestion you found grossly unhelpful was one of mine if I remember rightly? No worries there on my score. :D

I am running low on expressing sympathy right now, because I am too overanxious about getting through this crisis without going mad. I just don't want everyone here thinking that I'm too self-obsessed with lack of empathy, because my real life self is far from that.

I don’t think that :D
Anxiety can get the best of all of us, I’ve certainly had periods when all I could see in life was the terror of all around me: I can’t in all conscience think any the less of anyone for sharing a weakness I myself have.

(Truth be told, seeing other members sharing their problems is a great help to me in dealing with mine, feel less alone and “wrong” for seeing it)

Nobody's advice was useless. Your advice was as valuable to me as anyone else's advice. But after I followed the advice and it didn't work, I felt really panicky but I didn't mean to take it out on anyone personally. I was probably having a meltdown at the time.

But I'm glad you (and everybody else in this thread) know where I'm coming from. I feel happier already. :D

Pepe you are excelling in your "cheekiness," I am helpless in my affliction of NTism

I find your posts thought provoking and as such really helpful.

We all engage to a greater or lesser extent via our own experiences and views

I hope that you remain.

(Well, meltdown aside: that’s the opposite of excellent)
This is a short post because I’m in the middle of baking multiple things with weird flours I’ve never used before.

Joe I hope you stay. You have many friends here who care about you, and try to support you through tough times.

It's therapeutic to have a sounding board through the ups and downs of anxiety.

We're all in this together and things will only get better!

Don't worry, I won't leave. If it wasn't for all the support I get here, I would have left ages ago. Sometimes I just feel like it at times, but I guess we all do. It's a bit like when you have a bad day at work and you think about leaving but you don't actually intend to. :)

You were here when I joined, and I am glad you are not leaving.

We all have bad days at work and on WP. I do not know if I have ever said this before I have had thoughts of leaving a number of times when the software was really buggy and there were a handful of occasions when most of the members thought completely differently about autism issues that I wondered why I was still here.

I'm glad you're still here too. We need exchanges of ideas and can't all think exactly alike - we're a spectrum and in a spectrum, every colour/idea has some merit and should be freely discussed. Of course there will always be a tiny few folk with opinions so absurd that they come across as trolls but apart from that we need to encourage diversity.

But Joe90 is a beautiful lady. Shouldn't it be woman-o-pause?
