Making it Better: The future of WP
You were the mod who always responded to inappropriate behavior in The Haven as soon as you were available, preventing bad blood from growing there.
Now the forum is suffering because no one took that responsibility after you stopped moderating.

Exactly. Do you have such a mask? It would certainly encourage members to tow the line.
I PMed you enviro check your messages
Will check now. yes I do have such a mask. But removed the sticky bit from the price tag now, which they went and put right over the mouth, but it looked like a fang.

As far as this upcoming election goes, I’m not voting based on my politics, just voting to get rid of trump. I suspect a lot of Republicans will be doing that as well.

None of us want to see any hate or racism on WP and any evidence of it that any member sees should be reported and dealt with asap.

I understand your point of view Alex.
I may be wrong, but personally I think it is more effective for Administrators and Moderators not to express too emphatically what their political orientation is. It is my feeling that this in itself makes some members feel that the mods are bias, that their own views are frowned upon, when it is not necessarily the case. What do you think?

Strange way to not push a political belief, implying that anyone voting for Mr Trump this year is a "white supremecist"...

I don’t really moderate and as I said most of my political beliefs (other than the anti-racist views) are probably opposite of what you think they are.

Temeraire asked to see some of the mod guidelines but I forgot what with the extremely fast flow of info on here so here are a few I located:
they are from many years back but still appropriate.
Double posts and threads - always remove the most recent one to avoid having two mods removing all of them.
Discussing recreational drugs should stay in the Adult Forum, but responsible discussion on drug use for therapeutic purposes is allowed in other places like the General or Health Forum. Same goes for talking about bodily functions if it's health related and doesn't become unnecessary graphic.
People are not allowed to attack, aggressively criticise or force their views on others in the Haven.
It has been mentioned without becoming an official rule that members are not allowed to ask others for money, but they can ask for help in a more general way.
Check the new users' list daily (go to my account, press browse users than sort). Offensive monikers are not allowed and should be removed. You can also spot potential spammers (baby4love, purehoodia) and keep an eye on them.
Something purely subjective and unofficial that served me well: treat others with kindness, we all make mistakes.
Mentioning unique tones to boards, perhaps while I'm visiting I should summarize a few:
1) Parenting: members posting should be careful of being directly critical of the parents. The parents won't learn to do better by their AS kids if they are scared off after their first post. I worked with a lot of members over the years to get them to see the value in toning it down, and most who visit there now get it, but you never know when someone new will walk in.
2) Teens: I haven't modded it for a while but basically there is still a level of innocence to protect, while allowing them to discuss issues important to that time of life.
3) Kids: it should be really rare that an adult posts there. Some do by mistake, not realizing what board they are on, but I always kept an eye out for odd behavior from adults, and also watched for kids sharing too much personal information. When they do, they should be told to check in with an adult in their home and edit if necessary.
4) Adult discussions: tasteless pictures OK, outright porn, not. Limit the discussion of festishes; went around about this a while back, but basically they don't need to go into details here; there are better places for that. Some discussion is OK because many members feel it all ties into their AS. But when the point of discussion is about dwelling inside the festish and not about dealing with it, that has gone too far.
5) PPR: moderated the lightest. Dox was trying to write some rules; what happened with that project? Haven't looked over there in a long time.
6) The Haven: people should be allowed to vent as long as it is a personal vent, and not an attack on someone or something specific. I think that is why Tallyman thought the one thread should stay.
7) Love and dating: on that one, I posted something on the board at the request of a member. It gets difficult because people should be able to vent their frustrations, but the truth is those frustrations are often misdirected, and other members get quickly offended and take a pretty blunt approach in challenging it.

Alex in the space of a few days you have undone the work of thousands of man hours, you may have no heed on our work or our voices, you may take our autistic energy for granted, but that doesnt mean that I will consent to being taken for granted.
You may own the site and invest hard earned money but how you are behaving towards undoing the collective efforts of this community is callous.
How can I contribute to your efforts and heed your work? Please let me know because I would like to support that and want the community to be the best it can be.
Before I begin:
You abandoned us and that is callous, I cant trust an admin that does that.
We operated here through peer cooperation in the absence of an active admin, which is utterly amazing when you consider our apparent social disabilities.
We achieved that through informal voluntary work and a tonne of work-arounds yes regular members voluntarily donated their time to keep the peace, we kept it operational through collaboration.
You have arrived here behaving totally out of touch with the WP of today and seeming as if you are entitled to do so.
This is not the school project that you can do with as you please, this is a collaborative autistic space.
Get on board or appoint someone to do that for you.
You have ethical responsibilities to tend to at minimum.
Ok I'm keeping this process practical slimline and cost effective, however, these are the minimum if you are indeed genuine with your words:
Appoint members to assist in producing:
A clear mission statement vision and ethos.
Revision of the rules to reflect the world we live in today.
Publish mod guidelines.
Actual meaningful inclusion of the non American user base, I believe we exist in significant numbers, I am tired of us being classed as of lesser importance because I'm not in America.
Besides we broaden horizons.
Also can you put the politics in a box please in PPR, not here in this thread or section.

It was pretty clear to me that the swastika image was being used in jest, and I think anyone here who understands Ferris' sense of humour would come to the same conclusion.
I think, especially when you're on the spectrum, if you don't understand the temperament, character or sense of humour of a particular user, it can sometimes be easy to get the wrong idea about a post they make and the intentions behind it.
I think my question is when have swastikas been used in jest? What comedians joke around with the swastika? It’s easy to post an inflammatory symbol then hide behind “just a joke.”
I think the problem is we think tolerance means even tolerating intolerance. But tolerance should mean being tolerant of everyone except people who are intolerant.
I think you are deflecting and using me as a scapegoat ( that's never happened before ) to not address your condemnation of one member here. I will leave as I have such a terrible sense of humour , just sort your s**t out mate.

Release me from moral assumption
Total rejection total destruction
Pepe has repeatedly suggested using the word racist be disallowed.
<pepe rubs hands together>
I will focus on this.
Absolutely incorrect.
A total misrepresentation.
Never said it,
Never implied it,
That is a figment of your imagination.
Total "Poppycock".
Note how a critical thinker engages, err, critical thinking
I have a problem with insinuations.
I have a problem with the sloppy analysis of what has been said, such is happening here.
I have a problem with emotiveness replacing rational, logical thinking.
I have a problem with someone using the racism card, as a debating tool.
I have a problem with ad hominem attacks.
I have a problem with being surreptitiously called a racist in order to shut down discussions.
I have never explicitly or implicitly stated that the term "racist" be disallowed.
I have a problem with its indiscriminate use where it doesn't apply.
In order to be validly called a racist, the evidence must be supplied.
BTW, I don't default to using the term "Racist".
I prefer to refer to the problems associated with "Tribalism".
Tribalism is a natural inherency as a result of the evolutionary process.
It is the inherent nature of most human beings.
It is something that is managed, rather than eliminated.
A tribalist/racist is a person who embraces this primitive instinct.
I don't.
Any psychologist or psychiatrist will tell "you" that we aren't responsible for our primitive thoughts which spontaneously manifests themselves from time to time.
These thoughts emanate from the more primitive aspects of our brain, and are managed by our more cognitive parts.
Think in terms of the Id, ego, and superego.
They can be inspired by environmental stimuli or an imagined context.
<baffling with science stage completed.
In conclusion:
My position is:
The use of the term "Racism" is valid,
But only when there is sufficient evidence available through the critical thinking process.
It is not valid if the intention is to use it simply in an ad hominem.
I have never stated, nor suggested the use of the word shouldn't be used.
I simply demand it is used as part of an accurate, rational and ethical civil discussion.

Exactly. Do you have such a mask? It would certainly encourage members to tow the line.

Of course you can play around with the swastika:

Reducing the nazis to something like that. That's what they are and what they should be: a joke.
I asked before and I'll ask again, do you just speak just for you or do you speak as the owner and intend to implement rules like equating Trump voters with white supremacy? You've got a lot of Americans and about half of them will vote for Trump.
Freedom of speech. If you're for that then it shouldn't be a problem. If you don't like the Trump guys but will leave them alone in a moderation sense, then that's fine.
