Well, want to know why the Road Accident is called that?

Because it is extremely horrific, you think the human body shouldn't be able to do that, and yet you cannot look away.

Well, I made the second part up, about the human body NOT being able to do that, but I actually got the name from a script for the second series of The Office (the UK version). They describe the dance that David Brent does as being like a road accident: extremely awful, but no-one can stop watching it.

I love that kind of humor. I just saw my first episode of the American series a few weeks ago (incidentally the same day I saw my first episode of Doctor Who). I'd had no idea it was so funny, since I usually avoid tv. But it was just my style. I guess I miss out on some good things when I'm busy being a snob

I know what happens in all three series, but I've only actually watched full episodes up to The Lazarus Experiment, although I have seen parts of the next few episodes....

Out of the third series episodes I've watched, well, all of them are pretty good.

I'm watching another series right now which I spoiled for myself like that, having read the plot synopsis several years ago. Though when a show is good enough, it doesn't matter too much if you already know what happens, because it's a lovely journey to get there.




Cool. Thank you. I think they're all on Netflix. The plot is continuous, right? Not episodic? Well, probably sort of a mix of the two, as most shows are.

There are also a number of releases on DVD. These are the ones I recommend (note, the original series had stories mostly with a single story title, with anywhere from 2 to 7, normally, 25-minute episodes):

The Talons of Weng-Chiang (not too well towards the Chinese in this episode, I'm afraid, but it was made in the 1970's, and is thought by most to be one of the best Doctor Who stories ever)

Earthshock (a story that shows that the Doctor cannot always protect his companions)

The Caves of Androzani

Vengeance on Varos (reality TV gone mad, even before the episode you watched, Bad Wolf)

Remembrance of the Daleks

The Curse of Fenric (a story showing a much darker side to the Doctor)

They are stand-alone episodes mostly, either as a single part or a two parter (hence the titles that have a slash in the middle. Those are two-part stories). However, the new series tend to have over-arching storylines over the entire season, usually based on a single keyword. In the first series, it was Bad Wolf. In the second new series, it was Torchwood. In the third new series, it is Mr Saxon.

So who is that in your current icon? It isn't the same guy as before, is it?
