I just within the last half-hour get banned for the wp chatroom for harassment that didn't happen, last night I send a strongly worded memo to a user who goes by the nick of iamlost, who's never really in there and was not in the channel at the time the memo was sent to them, a friend of theirs issued the ban because they are friends with them

so I would like to know

1) WHY has that chatroom gone to s*** since 2007?
2) WHY do victims get banned and bullies get let off
3) WHY do the ops let the power of this go to their head and set bans based on whom they are friends with?

I also have this suggestion for Alex:
Please reconstruct the channel elsewhere, purchase your own server for an IRCd or see stevecam's thread for alternative ideas, restart the whole channel from scratch as the way it is now it's likely to fail, I think christel on freenode is getting as fed up as most of us sane people are

I did notice how you get bullied by everyone, but not one of the OP's ever says anything, I expected you to get banned sooner or later.

Because it's run by people.

I have been banned before, for a lot of things I have not done and some things I did deserve a banning for, it's all because people believe the bullies and the abusers over their victims, they successfull driven off a girl I had feelings for in the end (I'd got to know her), but I guess things happen for a reason.... :sigh:

by strongly worded memo (PM) he means an attack, with all manner of vile language against a user.

you were banned as the rules of the room clearly state

"Attacks

* Personal attacks in the channel or via PM are not permitted
* Insinuation counts as a personal attack
* Spreading malicious rumors is not permitted"

the user is a regular in the chatroom.

The present ops have reviewed your behaviour, and decided it violated these rules.

we also take into consideration your use of blogs, thirdparty websites, facebook, the forums, pms and memos to attack users, despite being given numerous warnings. And as a whole believe that defies the notion of it being a support channel.

to reiterate, the ban was set in response to rule violation.

I also point out that stevecam has been K-lined by freenode staff (the host network of the chat) as being accomplice to some awful events.

I would also like to point out the numerous previous posts by you in this forum regarding problems you have when you do not agree with the decisions of the ops.

as the op who set your ban I would also like to draw attention to the harassment, lies and bullying you have been using to try and undo your ban.

I also wish to point out that sending veiled threats to the person who made the complaint about you in pm accounts for a further break in the rules mentioned above.

I hope that clarifies the situation for you.
