Why can't I change my time zone?

No idea. You should be able to set the correct time zone from your 'edit profile' page - mine appears to be working fine. If not, PM me and I'll look into it for you.

when u go to change your time in your profile, make sure to reenter you password.

Actually you only need to enter your password if you want to change it.
