By reading the comment in the locked post http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt199510.html , I see that the ONLY reason for locking it is the ''race'' part, not the ''weight'' part. Since the only time ''race'' was mentioned was the original post and hte rest of the discussion was on ''weight'', can you unlock it with the provisio that I simply edit the original post and remove the paragramph that mentions race?

If you say its not possible because of SilkiSifka's response to race part, is it okay if I make another post which is identical to the opening post in the first one, minus the race paragraph? In other words, can I take cut and paste of the original opening post, remove the paragraph that talks about race, and then re-post the remaining paragraphs in a new post (while the old one stays locked)? That way everyone can start responding afresh and race-related response by SilkiSifka won't be on the way?

Or if you don't like me re-posting you can always just re-open the original post and let me edit it; I am sure that SilkiSifka's response will be overlooked by most members once race is editted out of original post. I mean I am open to either editting or re-posting option, it is totally up to you. I just don't want the entire discussion on topic A to end because of topic B being brought up.

If the intention of the thread is still the same, editing makes very little difference IMHO.

Discussion of locked threads is not allowed(Please read the rules its one of its closing statements) so please take the issue privately to the mod that locked it.

Posts that are demeaning to a certain gender/race/minority/whatever arent allowed(its on the rules/the top thread of L&D(its a recurrent subject)).

We try to turn a blind eye towards it if its encouraging some healthy discussion but the OP was already demeaning both genders besides the race aspect so its hard to overlook that sort of thing

The intention of the thread was NOT the race. Race was merely an EXAMPLE. The MAIN TOPIC is the quality of women I get. So I can easily replace race with something else (such as for example the fact that half of the girls I had were with emotional problems) without compromising the intention of the thread.

As far as "demeaning genders" part, this is something over half of the posts on "Love and Dating" section are guilty of. So since you are not locking over half of the posts, this aspect is clearly allowed.

Its allowed to a small degree.
But when the OP includes a pool thats offensive to some members and most posts on that thread are on a similar manner the thread gets locked/removed because its against the rules to do that.

Edit: As we´ve said a thousand times if you have an issue with any thread feel free to report it.

I locked that post last night, at 12.33am BST. There are others issues besides the racist content. But, at that time of night, when I should really have been asleep, I thought it was sufficient to note that it was obviously racist and therefore a breach of WP rules.

OK, this has got to be like the 20th thread about threads locking. I'm sure there are more things in life to worry about than whether a thread on WP gets locked or not. Unless you're like me, who fusses too much over the principle of situations.

There should be no moderation so that the site can be extremely offensive and frustrating for people and their self-esteeem is destroyed by participating. Then eventually the site will die, and there will be no problem anymore.

Sound good?

Disney Channel refuses to let us play The Sopranos on their station!! CENSORSHIP!!

If people keep abusing this term it will become essentially meaningless

Vigilans, I am coming to your living room and I plan to speak for 3 hours (I have alot to say on the subject) about how Jesus is coming in 42 days and it will be the end of the world. Possibly on a daily basis. If you throw me out you're a Nazi fascist censor.

Hopefully they will soon realize that whining and labeling enforcement of rules as censorship just digs them in deeper.
