I've had a couple of comments deleted here in the past week. Freely, I admit I may go too far sometimes and should probably think twice about a comment I post. The humor I write is of an edgy, polemic variety, and I need to understand that this is a family site. I apologize if I have ever offended anyone here.

Having said that, I do kind of feel that it was a bit ridiculous for the moderator to have deleted a comment I made yesterday that utilized an off-color expression for self-stimulation (first word begins with a J, second with an O). Isn't that being just a little too puritanical?

I'm not sure what you're talking about, but shouldn't this be in the wrongplanet.discussion forum?

i checked the moderator logs for the last 5 days, and I can't find any sign of any of your deleted posts. Perhaps it is some glitch since I saw some other complaining about disappearing posts and rest assured that we're usually too swamped with spam to be circling around and deleting dubious posts.

I see. Well, forget I said anything, then. Yeah, maybe it did belong in the wrongplanet.discussion forum -- at least part of it. I apologize again. I'm just full of apologies, today.

No problem - I don't remember any of your posts that needed to be deleted, well one thread got locked a few months ago, but after that I don't recall having seen a complaint about you or a report either - maybe some other mod knows better.

Hi, Vegetable Man----nice to see you!!

Alot of people have been saying their posts have disappeared. I think the problem is that the new site now has a new feature..... If you post a reply, and someone posts since you read the thread, it'll say something like: "At least one other person has posted since you read the thread. Do you still want to post your reply?" It shows-up on the page where you would usually see "Your post has been entered successfully"----BUT, if you don't scroll-down, and you just ASSUME it says "Your post has been entered successfully", and close the window, your post will NEVER be posted. If you get the message about someone else has posted, you just need to hit "Submit", again----if you still want to.

The new feature is GREAT----BUT, we have to get use to scrolling-down and double-checking. There's too much scrolling needing to be done, now.

Thanks, Campin_Cat, that clears things up nicely. I knew the posts in question were a bit edgy, so it might be a good thing that they didn't go through after all.
