Hi , I've replied to a PM I was sent ,but it's gone to my outbox. How do I make sure it's actually sent?

As far as I’m aware a message in “outbox” has been sent, but not read, and it will move to “sent messages” when the recipient reads it.

I may be completely wrong, if I am: threadbump!

Hopefully someone else will be certain on the subject.

You are correct.

Coolness 8)

Related subsidiary question:
If one deletes a PM in ones outbox: will the recipient still receive it, or is it obliterated at both ends?

Both - they receive it, but it doesn't contain the contents any more.

Ahh, same as using the edit function to remove the text of a post :)
That makes sense.

Ahhh. Sometimes I go to send a reply to a PM and send it to myself by mistake as I clicked on the message to myself instead of the message to the other person.
