I started a discussion about Abraham Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs (Basic & Growth Needs) in the Random Discussion Forum. It's not doing so well there. Can it be moved to Politics, Philosophy & Religion? If so, how?

Something I wanted to know. If you move a thread to another area, why does it also stay in the original area? Wouldn't it make more sense for it not to leave any trace in the former forum because it only takes up more space on the list. I hope I have made this clear and not confusing.

Its optional to leave a shadow link(I rarely do but did in this case). But I think the shadow link is only temporary.

There seems to be some shadow links in the adult forum where stuff was moved, that's why I was asking. I also wonder if locked links should be deleted if they were locked for being a duplicated link or because of objectionable comments?

Can we get a 'thread move request' sticky? Lots of tings are incorrectly placed, generally by the people who are newer to this site.

I just move threads upon request by PM and personal consideration.

I think those shadows were mainly my fault.
I put them up so that people wouldn't get
confused, by the threads which were moved
due to being in the inappropriate section. This
is something I only did to the necros, as they
were largely untouched for so long.

My policy on moving was, only by request of
the OP, though I might try to solicit that request,
if something seemed really out of place. The exception
being on the long unused threads. Well, and something
which needed to be moved for adult content - though I
don't think that I did any of these.

The shadow links probably wouldn't be needed any more, really.

They'll sink. Indeed, since they don't get posted
to, they're doing no harm.

But they're taking up space and it seems as if the site is getting those stupid SQL errors because there's too much stuff on it.

They take virtually no memory,
and probably aren't worth the
bother of hunting down.
