Oh tell her that you have taken her advice, and you have had a sudden change of heart and are applying to Dorchester.

Unless I explore different ways of learning, uni will be harder than nails for me. I need to explore the different strategies... the standard stuff simply doesn't inspire or motivate me enough.

I dont want this to seem like an ad but Im writing a book taht Im either going to get publushed ( Im submitting proposols now) or Ill self publish would any of you buy it : its on Universty aimed at students with AS discussing indepdent travel and social skills like how to start and conversation at a university open day and infomation on living in halls

Haha it's all OK now. I have a very small chance of being banned because of my AS Level results. All I know is that a few days before I start uni, I'll have to discuss my medical history with an occupational health person of some sort... Wahoo.

Occupational Health? Have you done something criminal or endangered others then? If its criminal I think the unis get to know about it at application stage.

I'm quite sure that my criminal record has been wiped (that thing that was there was the only one) because when that thing happened, I was actually under a section. It's probably the section that is the reason for occuptional health. And my AS??? I don't know... I'M CONFUSED.

Which would mean your uni would know about it, so someone will be telling them. As for your AS, there is an option to enter it on the UCAS application, but you are not obliged to do so, and you can also explain your disability etc in the box if you choose (its known as code "T"). You have to choice to tell them after you have your offers, however. A criminal record can affect your application, and you may be obliged by the UCAS rules to tell the unis in your application (even if its been wiped), you need to talk to your school about that one.

W/e about the criminal record. Its probably just in NHS records and that's it, nothing really serious.
I will be telling them about my AS because of the interview method.

Dont think having AS will get you off the hook at an interview. By and large they dont care.

Yeah I know. And I don't care really. I don't care about anything these days. I gave up on caring. University choices do my head in. I'm going to go back to school brain-dead.

I found university really heard. Not the work, but the lifestyle. Admittedly I'm not really living a university lifestyle (I commute, and other than my lectures and trips to the library to collect/return books, I basically come home as soon as possible each day I'm there).

It has only been recently that I've been registered at the Disability and Dyslexia Services. Basically I've been having appointments to sort things out at uni since April (when I got diagnosed). I should be going into my third year but I'm redoing some modules that I didn't attend (due to anxiety and other AS related issues). However, I'm being assessed for my DSA and so with a mentor and my 'action plan' in place I'm hoping that the next couple of years will run far more smoothly.

The woman who is putting the 'action plan' into place told me that I'm the first student to have an 'action plan' because my diagnosis is so good that they can treat me as an individual instead of just a general AS student. She also said that by making it known to my tutors that they have to be very clear, NT students should also be better able to understand lectures.

I'm not 100% sure about what the 'action plan' entails although I was given one example. Tomorrow I have an appointment to discuss things more fully.

Colleges just like to have everything on paper so that it can look good in their file cabinets.

Also to you might be able to qualify to receive benefits that might help you like extra test time. Extra test time is very good.

My medical file at school is no longer just one file, its three binded together with elastic bands.

Yeh, they want to know if you're properly immunized.

You dont have to give your full medical history if you dont want to. Plus hypothetically the university health centre is supposed to not to be allowed to share information with the rest of it.
