What do you think about your school?

When I was at high school (which was only for about 5 months of the first year) it was a nightmare. The class work was boring and repetitive, focused torwards work sheets, text books and copying notes from the white board. Yeah, I know that sounds typical of a lot of high schools but really, who learns anything doing that? I sure didn't. The students were superficial, uninteresting and a few of them liked to bully me on a daily basis. The teachers cared more about getting paid than helping the students learn. If someone was falling behind, they didn't care, as long as the work was handed in at the end of each day or week. They were bossy, disrespectful and failed me in assignments and tests because I didn't do them 'their way'.

This year I'm going to be studying at home (via The Open Polytechnic of New Zealand) and I'm really looking forward to it. I can do my study in the late afternoon because it's when my brain is most active and because of my anxiety about public transport, this course is perfect. The only down side is that I have to contact my tutor via the phone and I hate phones.

Well if anyone is paying attention on how NCAA Men Division I Basketball is going, you'll be suprised on how teams are doing like Mason and Illinois State (Mid Major Conference Teams) are doing. College is fun and I'm loving a lot.

My school is complete crap, both the students and most of the teachers are complete brainless fools.

i dread going to my school! The kids are extremely rude, and the teachers dont want to do anything. I dread getting up @ 5:30 in the morning, and waisting 6 hours of my life in this building full of teachers and students that only care about themselves. I have one teacher that always says "leave me alone, and dont talk to me." We just sit, talk, and do pointless worksheets in that class. I've told the office about his attitude, and they just rolled their eyes at me about it. There are some real stupid teachers out there.

I'm thinking about going to a vo-tech high school next year that schools from around my area recieve services from. I'm thinking about studying electro-optics engineering at that school. I'm visiting the school in a few days, and i will make my final decision if i want to go to that school. I hope that if i do decide to go, that it will be a much better experience than the school i'm in now.

Same here (minus the nerd part; its usually someone else who points out the teacher's mistakes) Its so ironic after all - our english teacher's fourth language is english, and she words things in a really odd way so its difficult to understand and/or misleading.

My relationship with classmates is complicated (theres only 14 eighth-gaders in my small skool, 12 girls and 2 boys, im a boy). So yeah....me and about 3/4 the class used 2 hate each other, they wud bully me, and i was seriosuly planning to kill them.....but yeah long story and now were on goodish-terms (better terms, MUCH better newayz). The seventh grade is full of annoying, self-centered perverts, so uuggghhhhhhhhh. I only like 2 or 3 of the teachers; the rest are either incompetent, too strict or just bloody insane!! every teacher also thinks the subject theyre teaching is the most important, so thats annoying....and my math teacher (worst subject becuz of the teacher) starts her periods ten minutes early and ends late whenever she can (she ended a half hour later then usual today).

Oh yeah shes the principal too so she can go into other teachers classes, etc....

My school is ment to be one of the best in the city but it's still a chavvy dump. The teachers are too soft and can't control a class to save their lives, over half the pupils are aload of arse holes and the girls look like barbie gone wrong.

But I do enjoy this one room called "the multi agency" where all weirdos hang out and we have a right laugh

I might end up having to go to my school's sixth form next year. It's supposed to be a really good one but I've never really wanted to go there. I haven't got many options though. I don't like the sixth formers that I've seen. They're loud and weird.(My version of weird).

One of my teachers had a solution: He stand up in front of the curse and said that he had a save job and he can make his show and it is on us to learn or not to learn, but the next exam will come certainly and we, the students, had to find our place in the world, so if we ignore him that will be entirely our problem. It worked.

I don't really mind a lot of subjects, the only one that really annoys me is ICT(computers). I know Python,HTML, PHP, Javscript, CSS, XHTML, etc. and haven't use Windows for personal use in months, yet they want me to learn how to use f*****g powerpoint and make sites in PUBLISHER... I obviously said I wasn't going to make a site in Publisher, and hand coded my sites from scratch, and try to make slide shows in Flash using Action Script, but still.
I also don't like having to attend a Catholic school, but that's mainly down to my parents wanting me to be Catholic and shoving beliefs down my throat, since they are very bias, imo, for example, praying in every freaking class... Also, the 'Catholics' are TERRIBLE Catholics... I mean, I'm Atheist(but if you ask my teachers and parents I'm Catholic), and I'm more moral according to the bible than them. They're also in constant contradiction whether Genesis is true, like, one RE(Religious Education) teacher claims Gensis was made up, then another says there's evidence for it, and then the Science teachers OBVIOUSLY have a completely different story...
But, despite my rants, I do actually like my school, the teachers are okay and stuff, I don't have that many friends, and morning break sort of sucks, but lunch times are good because I get to go to the computer room all lunch and just read computer languages and code and stuff, which is actually quite fun . And because the teachers don't really know what it is, they can't say it's not homework, and tbh, it usually does have some sort of regard for my ICT homework.
