in School, boys hate non-shy girls?

I met a retired schoolteacher yesterday, who taught my friend. My friend and I had a long talk with this teacher, and the issue of children in school being hostile to one another was brought up. I said I have Asperger's, and when I was in school I was treated with blanket hostility by the boys.

The teacher said that boys are hostile to ANY girls that are NOT shy. They apparently see it as 'aggression' and they feel the need to counter it and react against it. And dammit, I was NOT shy. Not necessarily full-on aggressive (I never got in fights).

Is this assessment for the most part correct?

The reason this isn't in dating is this has nothing to do with dating at the time it happens.

That's a very general claim and a lot of exceptions can be made to it.
First of all, it depends entirely on the grade level.
Second, both genders are rotten, just in different ways.

I don't think that is correct. The stereotypically popular cheerleader-type girl is very outgoing, a leader, and never lacks for attention and admiration from boys.

Funny thing about my town. NO cheerleaders. No use for them no need for them, they didn't exist.

Sounds like a nice place.

Yeah, inter-gender relations change a lot throughout gradeschool.

Both genders are screwed up in school. The boys beat each other in the head, the girls beat each other in the heart.

It's a nice place except for the people. Despite the lack of cheerleaders, people were still awful. Only it was the boys who were horrible. There's no cheerleaders for hockey. And all the jocks were Hockey Jocks. In comparison the girls were NOTHING. There was the odd catty girl, but few and far between.

But it wasn't merely jocks who were miserable. It was pretty much ALL the guys. Distinct lack of geeks/nerds/quiet guys in my school. Most were stunningly normal/average (NT).
