I'm having a really hard time concentrating in my Maths class. In spite the fact I never listen to a word the teacher says and that I never do the work or homework, I take it all in and do amazingly on the tests, after forcing myself to focus.
I'm getting horrible marks for effort put into class and homework and all I manage the entire time is perhaps one and a half questions before I tune out and start trying to figure out how the clicking function in my pen works for about the billionth time or some such thing.
This has been a problem right through life, having never liked numbers and never being able to concentrate on them.
Can anyone give hints on a possible way of concentrating other than the painfully tedious task of forcing myself?

Is it too easy?

Do you know the TV ad for cat food, "cat food all same, just different labels". Maths problems are like that. All same, just different labels.

Are you bored?

Unbareably. I can do all the problems without practising and all... What's the point?

Guessing you are in year 10?

Does your school have a "maths extension program" or similar?

Amazing guess...
Thing is... I'm already in the extention program. I only missed out on acceleration (y11 maths in y10, y10 maths in y9 etc.) because of my low grades in effort...
