Alot of my teachers give me work that is too hard for me, so half of the time we get during class I am just sitting there and I don't get it but I find it hard to ask for help, and the teaachers never notice me staring at them (my way of showing them I need help) and when they talk to the class about it, I don't understand what they are saying. I need the instructions to be short and simple.
My teachers know that I have aspergers, and they are aware that I find many things a lot more challenging, but they never help me to adjust my assignments so I can do them (like my friends teacher gives him a shorter assignment then the rest of the class) and I've told them that I would like for them to help me out more, but they haven't done anything about it.
My psychiatrist suggested that I go to the wascana rehabilitation centre school, but right now I'm going two afternoon's a week, and I find the work a lot easier, and the teachers work hard to figure out what I am capable of, and they make sure that I understand, I really like it at WRC because of the teachers and the work, but I also really like my school (I just attend regular classes) because the students accept me for who I am.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can improve at school, and get the teachers to understand that the work is just too hard??
