For those in college and for those who went, did you live on your own by yourself when you went?

Reason why I'm asking this is because my aunt and uncle will be remodeling the whole upsatirs of their house and they'd want me to move out by then and I don’t know how I can afford to live on my own and go to school at the same time. How can I work and go to school and make enough money to support myself while going to school? For those who went to school and lived on your own, how did you do it?

I have an appointment with SSI tomorrow because they want to see if I still qualify for it. If I don’t anymore because I am able to hold down a job, I don’t know how I’m going to go to school and live on my own at the same time because I wouldn’t be able to work full time then. No way I am going back to Montana and live with my parents again because there isn’t very much jobs over there and I like the fact that I don’t have to drive to work because we have busses and they don’t because they live in a small town. I save hell a lot of money because I don’t have to keep paying for gas every few days or every week. All I pay is 74 a month on a bus pass. With my car I be paying more than that a month with gas.

It would depend on whether you're going to school full-time or part-time.

Many people live with close family while they are going to school full-time, or they live on campus (in dorms). This also depends on whether you're attending a community college, or a 4-year university. Most community colleges don't have dorms.

People who go to school part-time usually can get full-time jobs, and can live on their own.

My folks paid my way for the first couple of years.
Once you get established on campus, there are
often some VERY good sources of money available.
I had a friend who leached off the student government,
and I made a living selling ads for the college magazine.

There are always loans/work study programs in the US, and
they can help. Between them and financial aid, it should be
possible.

I just found out the Portland univeristy here has public housing. I was online looking at college courses and other colleges seeing what courses they have.
