i've always hated physical education...ever since i can remember. it's this strange breakaway from my normal routine of the day. one second i'm sitting in sociology class and then i'm doing pushups and running across a gym floor. also i despise the fact that my p.e. classes are unorganized. we stretch, run, and then go down to the weight room where most of the guys will exercise while the majority of the girls get into their social groups and sit around talking about...something. afterwards we go back up to the gym where the guys once again throw around the football or attack each other with a volleyball. ocassionally some of the girls will form a circle and hit the volleyball around. i'll join in and 5 mins. later most of the girls wander off and the game will end :x.

All i can say is enjoy High School while you can, itll be over and you may miss it. I know I wish I could go back...

For the most part I did not like Physical Education. I was never the athletic or even the physically fit person. The only thing that I actually tolerated was the exercising we occasionally did.

In Elementary School it was a hassle but sometimes I use to get help by my fellow peers and even teachers.

In Junior High I tried participating, made an ass out of myself and eventually just hid. I managed to pass it believe it or not.

In High School I tried a lot harder and did better but still did not like it and still wasn't too good. Actually we even had written tests in P.E. in High school and surprisely on many of those tests I did not do that well.

Hated it, sucked at it, was always the last one picked for the team. What more is there to say?

I loved it!

In swimming since I was on the swim team, my teacher said that I should help "train" the other students.

I pretty much didn't have to do any of the tests because the teacher knew that I was on 3 different sports teams; so she assigned me to "train" other people heh.

I hated it in grade school, but loved it in college.

BTW, I took weight training for both of the required semesters of college-level P.E.

Physical Education...

Lets just say that they were probably one of the worst days of my lifes.
I was always falling over and hurting myself, but still was made to join in when injured. I could never do anything right whether it be team sports or push-ups.
Failing was my only achievement in that class, as I said I did nothing right. The strange thing was is that the teacher passed me and said I was an "excellent student with great motivation". :?

Love hate.

Always tried, usually failed.

Good at badminton though, for some unknown reason. I can barely catch a ball, but apart from my feet getting tangled up and my losing my balance if I have to quickly move my weight, I'm pretty good.

Hated it. I always had gym teachers who joined the "popular" kids in bullying the less popular ones. It taught me to stay away from physical activity. Fortunately, I started hiking and kayaking later on and discovered that exercise can be fun when you don't have someone yelling at you and humiliating you. I got out of high school as early as I could and I have no desire to go back.

There were things I liked about it and things I didn't. I loved the fact that I could get up from sitting in class all day and just goof off (like on free days). But I hated doing the physical tests because I was always too small for the requirements, causing me to fail dreadfully. I never had a problem with running short distances though. That was actually my best thing. Oh, and I loved playing kickball but I absolutely hated dodge ball!

Our PE was highly unorganised and ran by our 70 year old dean.
One day a student pointed and everyone saw her thong. A collective shriek followed.

In december we had to do TAE BO and that was crazy!! !! !! !! !! !

Ugh. PE. Where do I start? Never getting picked for teams? The fact that balls used in various sports seem inordinately attracted to my head and solar plexus? Everyone lording it over me because they could run faster? Mile runs? Boys taking the opportunity offered by such a disorganized class to see just what would make me most uncomfortable and miserable?
One part I did like, though... field hockey. I was really good. Don't know why. Pissed off the evil boys to no end, which made a nice side benefit.

when I was in school. Like many of you I really wasn't good at it and couldn't play with the jocks really well. It has been very difficult for me my whole life in due part because I never had much athletic ability.

What I regret is that the school didn't aggressive force me to do PE more. I regret that there wasn't a teacher who could taken the time outside of class to help me improve my skills. I regret the fact that I didn't seek someone out to mentor me to get me in shape.

I work out five days a week now. I run and lift weights. I love working out at the gym now. Now I'm not ripped or anything, but I value physical education a lot. I wish that I had time to sign up for a sports team like kickball or something. Now that I'm older I think that I would appreciate it a lot.

We are getting more obese as a society. I believe that schools should aggressively promote PE now to its students. I also think, though, that they need to push it in a way where less athletically inclined children aren't made fun or made me to feel bad about themselves because they aren't as good as the jocks. Those children should be able to get extra help.

Oh god no. I'm in grad school and I'm still applying salve to my wounds from high school (mostly figuratively speaking). I've never missed it once.

In terms of the content of this post - I have always had issues with athletic ability. Thinking of PE just brings back stronger memories of solitude and embarrassment than my usual range of memories bring.

It was always horrible when they put us on teams too, because when we lost the game, they'd all turn to me go and "thanks a lot . . . again."

On the one hand, I sort of sucked.

Mostly, though, I was thrilled to be learning so many things my sheltered and disabled childhood had denied me.
